I would agree that the 'seven' lanes of traffic heading sounthbound on Crossbay with no obvious availability to movement in the opposite diirection is a mystery!

I can't imagine what must have been on their minds at the time, but it is obvious that the normal pattern was restored at some point and probably because of complaints.

Actually, the only routes out of the Rockaways would have been by either Marine Parkway Bridge or through the Five Towns via Far Rockaway! (long detours either way!).

I could see six lanes with one in opposition for at least emergency vehicles - the whole thing really makes no sense!

What can I tell you?
