If you knew where to look, classic buses were quite easy to spot in those classic 50s/early 60s "monsters running amok" flicks. "RODAN" (the first color Japanese sci-fi flick made) has some excellent closeup shots of an impressive line-up of mid-1950s Japanese buses. "THE DEADLY MANTIS", 1957, has a scene where a sleek Flxible Visicoach (lettered for the "MUTUAL TRANSPORTATION COMPANY" is attacked by a 747-sized praying mantis(!!) Shocked 1953's "THE BEAST FROM 20, 000 FATHOMS" shows a number of "RIDE THE SURFACE WAY" Macks as well as Old Looks. 1958's "WAR OF THE COLLOSAL BEAST" has a towering mutated ex-soldier "playing" with a Silversides full of high school kids! No wonder I STILL love thse old flicks....(!!) Very Happy John

I saw part of The Day the Earth Stood Still last night and caught a few Macks, Twins, St. Louis Car Co. trolleybuses, and even a FACCo double decker.
