This is a Mackl C-47-DT serial 1068 from 1955 and numbered M64. It was returned to Mack.

Mack sold this bus to Randolph Bus Company, North Boulevard, and renumbered B137 in March 1956.

EXCELLENT PHOTO; THANKS for posting here! Very Happy

I believe this photo was taken at PSNJ's Plank Road shops in Newark.

MACKS like that shown, I recall quite well as a youngster, (oh so long ago!) on the NHBL, SHBL, and CENTRAL AVENUE.

I know that PS also operated a MACK suburban demo for a time (I believe you posted a photo of this bus quite awhile back)

"ORANGE & BLACK" rostered a nice-looking fleet of MACK suburbans wel linto the 1960s.

Again, NICE photoof a REAL bus!! Very Happy

By the way, the M in the fleet number stood for Mack.

The General Motors demos had GM. As Prefix. Twin Coach had TC as a prefix and ACF had an A prefix.

M64 and M65 were Mack model C-49-DM suburbans. They were returned and sold to Avenue B and became their numbers 501 and 502..

Interesting inf0!

I was always fascinated by PSNJ's unique "alphabet soup " bus numbering (last buses used a suffix instead of a prefix).

Not surprising that PS was a die-hard "Gee-Em" customer; prior to the war, theu had only one MACK in the fleet, and this was an ASV........
