When Avenue B and East Broadway Transit closed its doors in 1980 the fleet was all GM with the exception of five Flxible new look buses.

What happened to the fleet.

All the post war Macks were scrapped.

The GM old looks went back to Hausman Bus Sales.

The second hand GM new looks from Green Bus Lines and Rochester were probably scrapped.

Regarding the TDH-4519 numbers 606-610 and the T6H-4521A numbers 611-625 they were sold to the Miami Valley Regional Transit Authority now the Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority. I?m sure they performed a lot of body collision work on these buses. They renumbered the buses 801-819.

By the way number 623 is preserved as number 817 by the Ohio Museum of Transportation. This bus should be acquired by the New York City Transit Museum and restored as Avenue B!

Avenue B number 626-630 GM T8H-5308A their disposition is unknown.

Avenue B numbers 631-635 GM T8H-5308N Numbers 632 and 633 went to Sun Tran in Tucson. The others in this group their final resting place is unknown.

My question is this last group were T8H-5308N no air conditioning? They had the condenser unit housing but no air conditioning equipment?

And finally the beloved and underpowered Flxibles were simply towed away to the scrap yard! One should have been preserved.

Greatly appreciate you taking the rime to post the disposition of the "AVENUE B" fleet; I keep on imagine the color scheme the "Borough Bombers" (GRUMMANS) would have worn, had the company not gone under.

I can see them wearing very basic, simple scheme, such as the GRUMMANS operated by the Jersey City independents wore.....

"NYO"

["M-109"]
