Along with NYC buses, I'm also a big fan of NYC subways.
When I was a kid in Queens, I would ride the GG to Brooklyn, glued to the big railfan window on the old R1-9's.
Today's cars unfortunately offer that same experience to modern junior subway fans, but this YouTube channel offers outstanding videos from "the operating motor" (or perhaps from below the front anti-climber):

For decades, I was (not surprisingly!) likewise "stationed" at the RFW of too many NYC subway and PATH "tube" trains to count over the decades, totally engrossed in playing "assistant motorman"!

The last RFW experience Your's Truly had was the day he retired in April 2004, aboard a Brooklyn-bound "C" train of the iconic R-32 "Brightliners".

I spent so many hours at the RFW of PATH "PA" and "K" cars over the span of many years; I memorized virtually all the signal designation numbers between Hoboken and the WTC, pre-9/11! Very Happy

Ahhhh, what memories......too bad today's young generation is missing out on one of the greatest experiences in railfanning.......... Sad
