This is an interesting page (w/many photos) of Rome's METRO system

Like some of the subway lines in Tokyo, this system utilizes overhead wires.........

For many years, there were quite a few "classic era" trams clattering and hissing along the ancient streets of Rome; today, insectoid-like LRVs dominate the scene.

There is some interesting discussions on both past and present rolling stock...........

Sadly, in recent years, the Metro (like New York's subways in the 1970s and 1980s) is not immune to the scourge of graffiti........

From the 1950s and into the 1980s, these sleek and highly-distinctive high speed electrics once operated out of Rome.

Thankfully, one of these handsome, distinctive, historic electric trains survives today...........
