Queen Mary #2124 was branded Fifth Avenue Omnibus because at that time (when the TA started the museum) Fifth Avenue Coach was a copyrighted name. The museum ex-FACCO buses were eventually rebranded Fifth Avenue Coach once the issue was resolved.

Triboro Coach auxiliary vehicles...
The Fifth Avenue Coach pick up truck is at the Triboro Coach Woodside garage (the barely visible bus in the first bay appears to be painted in Triboro colors)

The Fifth Avenue Coach monster, #172, that you mentioned earlier on Queens Boulevard on its way to the FACO depot at 76 St and Northern Blvd.
And two Green Bus Lines trucks.
BTW, Jamaica Buses also had a Walter Snow plow truck as well.

MaBSTOA 15:
Is there NO bottom to the proverbial "magic hat" from which you conjure up such rare and outstanding vintage bus-related images?????
Somehow, or other, I must admit, I was NOT surprised to see you MORE than surpass yourself!
My late dad (b.1907) was a truck driver since the 20's, and did not retire until health issues forced him to in 1968.
He drove ice trucks for many years, as well as fuel tank and sanitation trucks (all in New Jersey)
He would have LOVED these photos!
I see I was pretty much "on track" if you will, for assuming that the bus companies rostered their own "service trucks" (incidentely, what does the MTA rescue disabled buses today?)
Again, THANK YOU for taking the time to hunt for, and then post these truly MAGNIFICENT old photos!

Sidenote:
CSL/CTA once had quite a few "service buses", using retired equipment.
One of the most unusual was the "CTA MAGNET BUS", which was a retired prewar ACF, that now was equipped with a huge magnetic apparatus up front, to pick up metal scraps from the streets along bus routes to keep bus tires from being punctured....ingenuity, for sure!

Somehow that doesn't surprise me, the reasons behind this. But basically after NYCO's 1954 acquisition of FACCo, it essentially became "Fifth Avenue Omnibus" in a way. Especially if you see a c.1955 photo of a Route 3 run in the book (by Guy E. Martin?) in the FACCo section of buses on the various entities between 1945 and 1975.

Weldbilt builds wreckers and NYC is a buyer. If you go to weldbilt.com and you can download what they call custom NYC bus tools.

Tiny Tim:
A bus system like the MTA's Bus Operations, without a doubt, indeed needs a good number of wreckers to be "on call", for when buses become disabled.
In extreme hot and cold weather, it would seem that's when breakdowns/stalls would be the most numerous (this has been the case for many decades)
Of course, a bus can become disabled even on the crispest, brightest, sunniest days........

SUPER-COOL PHOTO*!!!!!!!!!!!!
(you even have vintage IRT cars going by in the background!)
Vintage photos of disabled buses being towed are few and far between, in comparison to the thousands of other bus photos online; I know other bus historians/enthusiasts would like to see more such photos....each one tells its own little story!
Thanks again for posting this gem!

*Any idea where this photo was taken? Looks like either the Bronx or Brooklyn.......
