Pic #3429: one of the few 'Buffalo' buses (in plural I always think of them as 'Bison') to have 4-piece rear windows (most were arranged 3-piece). The A/C buses headed towards PABT in Pic #2359 also appear 4-piece in the rear window department.

W.B.:
Thanks for bringing this up; I always thought it interesting that only a few "bison" were equipped with four piece rear windows.
On an interesting, related note, in 1967, Frank Sinatra posed with the rear of a GREYHOUND "Buffalo" (#7973) behind him for the cover of a new album; the album, "Sinatra/Jobin", sadly, was scrapped and never released.......

Though most would usually think of the Bay area commuter routes when thinking of the transit-type buses operated by GREYHOUND, in 1961, WESTERN GREYHOUND LINES purchased ten TDH-5301's for service on a route between San Diego and San Ysidro.
In later years, the bus was sold to SANTA CLARA COUNTY TRANSIT DISTRICT for further service.
Today, #9706 is part of the Pacific Bus Museum collection.......

Greyhound bought the following New Look buses from GM...
Greyhound Western Division, San Francisco
TDH-5301... serial numbers 2197-2206... 3-4/1961
New York World's Fair
TDH-5303... serial numbers 1581-1640... 12/1963; 3/1964
SDH-5302... serial numbers 0004-0043... 2-3/1964
Greyhound Western Division, San Francisco
TDM-5303... serial numbers 0004-0063... 6-7/1965
Greyhound Western Division, Gray Line, San Francisco
SDH-4502... serial numbers 0041-0042... 6/1966
SDH-4502... serial numbers 0048-0051... 7/1967
Greyhound, Washington Sightseeing
SDM-5302... serial numbers 0889-0891... 3/1967
Note:
Some of the SDH-5302 from the World's Fair wound up in Miami at American Sightseeing.
Some of the TDH-5303 from the World's Fair wound up at Triboro Coach after the fair ended. Those buses became my favorite Triboro Coach bus models!

Here are some views of the above listed buses:
Note the rear doors are blocked in the San Francisco commuter buses with an additional seat placed over the rear steps.
Also, the placement of the fuel filler door behind the front axle (a Greyhound standard) rather than ahead of the rear axle (GM standard)
#9601 has a Grant fare box

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GREAT information on the Hound's oft-neglected Fishbowls, and AWESOME vintage photos!!!!!!!!!!
I well remember Mom, my older brother, and I taking a GREYHOUND tour of the Fair, aboard one of those beautiful new Fishbowls; I can STILL clearly remember the "new bus smell " of the cool, air-conditioned interior as we viewed the many wonders of the Fair from our seats (I still have the tin friction GREYHOUND Fishbowl Mom bought me that day!)
I also have a number of 1960's-era toy GREYHOUND Fishbowls in my collection today; I also have a few of the CORGI models.
If I am not mistaken (I know we discussed this in a thread I started here long ago), didn't some of the '64 Fair Fishbowls eventually end up in NJ commuter service?
I certainly recall several "fallen flags" companies operating Fishbowls with "sightseeing" roof panels, well into the 1980's.
Again, THANK YOU for sharing these AWESOME old photos!!!!!

None of those buses in your pictures are ex-Greyhound buses from the World’s Fair. What gives it away is the fact that they all have Michigan marker lights, emergency doors, and/or side destinations signs. The Greyhound World’s Fair buses had neither.

MaBSTOA 15:
Thanks for your clarification; much appreciated.
If none of these buses were ex-GREYHOUND, I'm wondering what NJ companies did get any (I'm almost positive that some went to NJ carriers, from what I've read awhile ago)
I think that DE CAMP also might have had some sightseeing-roof Fishbowls, but, if they did, I very much doubt if these were ex-WF buses........

Thanks NYO and MaBSTOA 15 for all that Greyhound fishbowl info and photo's...brings back memories...
Regarding the Capitol Trailways (CBC) SDM's....I recall at least one occasion when they ran into The Port on the "Alphabet Route" pool...
This was a three way pool between New York and Harrisburg via Public Service New York to Allentown, Continental Trailways (Safeway Trails), Allentown to Reading, and Capitol from Reading to Harrisburg. You could purchase tickets from either PS or Trailways at the Port. Trailways would not sell thru tickets to Harrisburg, as they would sell over their own all Trailways express route instead, but they would sell to intermediate points such as Hershey....
