The CTA is the largest public transit operator in Egypt; no, you CAN'T get to The Loop or Van Buren (there is also no "L" service!)....... Rolling Eyes

In discussing buses that operate (and once operated) in the Middle East, mention must be made of the now-iconic MCI.

The MCI operated not only in Saudi Arabia, but also in Mexico, Taiwan, Korea and Australia.

As was mentioned early on in this topic, GREYHOUND also once operated in Saudi Arabia.......

This preserved MC-5 could tell many an interesting tale, if granted the power of speech; sad that none of those which operated in Saudi Arabia were preserved (I would imagine all were scrapped many years ago).......

Speaking of the Middle East, the following is of somewhat related interest.......

In 1977, New York's "Congregation Yetev Lev" took delivery of a customized PREVOST ("Prestige"); a rear door was specified so that men and women had their own door.

A photo of this interesting-looking customized coach can be found on page #64 in William A. Luke's "PREVOST BUSES"; destination sign reads:

"KIRYAS YOEL"

It is interesting, also, to think of buses of other builders being so "customized" as per their customer's request......

As far as I know, 2623 would have been a Central Greyhound Lines division vehicle. Western Greyhound buses were in the 7000 and 8000 series.
I sent the museum an email, asking them to check on that.
