This is one of 25 Pacific Avenue Jitneys.

They were built by ACF-Brill on Willys chassis and were known as models C-10 (probably following ACF's model numbering system "10" been the seating capacity).

The idea for the Jitneys was the work of Arthur Motors, Inc. of Atlantic City who supplied the Willys truck chassis to ACF for the body. And then were resold to individuals for operation in Atlantic City, all originating in 1948.

A total of 27 C-10s were built. The dispostion of serial #1 is unknown and serial #27 was turned over to Willys Overland but with a panel delivery truck body.

Note the radiator grill resembles the one used on the ACF-Brill IC-41s.
Also, note the "Willys" nameplate below the windshield.

MaBSTOA 15:

I had forgotten about those "jitneys" in Atlantic City, back in the day; I've only seen one or two photos of these over the rears.

Sure wouldn't mind driving one of these cute lil' buses around!

There are two b/w 1950's photos of these AC jitneys in William A Luke's "BUSES OF ACF PHOTO ARCHIVE".

Little buses like these, sad to say, all too often get "lost in the shuffle" when discussing vintage "big boy" models; small vehicles like these also have their story to tell.

Again, thanks for once again sharing yet another great old bus photo....... Wink
