All:

I have been reading discussions on this on other boards, as well as keeping abreast with the local news.

No matter what plans are put into effect, this shutdown of what was once one of the BMT's busiest routes is going to create chaos.

What are your thoughts?

I also heard a rumor that some TTC buses were going to travel down to pitch in; however, I hear the plan was scrapped.

What depot(s) do you think will be handling the buses needed to fill in for the "L" trains?

As this subway line is one of the system's busiest, this is NOT going to be pretty at all.

Appreciate your input.....

Another thought.....

I would wager a guess that at least some replacement buses for the "L" train shutdown will be articulateds, given their high passenger capacities.

Even there, with the entire "L" line shut down, no replacement bus service, no matter how well-coordinated, will be able to handle the crowds as the subway trains do normally.....

Mention must be made of the Canarsie line's 105th St. station; until the early 1970's, this station was also the location of the subway's only grade crossing.

In the days of the old BMT Standards, this grade crossing and old station house was very much "in sync" with the SIRT, during its own grade crossing days.........
