Hey all,

Today I was in Jamaica and there was a LIRR shuttle being performed for the Hempstead line. What was different and caught my attention was that LI Bus wasn't the only ones doing the shuttle. I saw some school buses and some charter buses. What was even more shocking was that MTA Bus was involved. 4 depots from what I saw and they were JFK, Far Rockaway, Baisley Park and Spring Creek. Quite the site to see a whole bunch of Hybrids doing LIRR shuttles. Sorry, no pics though.

It probably was quite the SIGHT to have seen all that different equipment covering a bustition. However, if you were to put on your dispatcher's cap for a moment, you'd realize that LI Bus is contending with having enough equipment for their summertime Jones Beach runs.
They also have to have enough drivers for those JB runs while contending with shortages of drivers due to summer vacations.

Probably don't have the resources to cover an entire bustitution.

Even though they could've gotten on the phone with Eastchester for some GMC RTSes and MCI Classics (that's if ANY of 'em are working at all!)....right?
