Service on bus routes that had been operated by Triangle Bus Corporation, and had been idle since July 17 when Triangle drivers and mechanics went out on strike against the company, is resumed under the aegis of New York City Omnibus Corporation. The Triangle routes in question were run by that company as M-10 - Avenue C-Desbrosses Street Ferry and M-40 - South Street; New York City Omnibus will operate bus service in that area as Rt. 21 - Houston Street-Avenue C (an amalgam of the M-10 and M-40 franchises) and Rt. 22 - Pitt and Ridge Streets (which franchise had been held by Triangle as M-45). In the process, part of the service along South Street that had gone to South Ferry is abandoned. This brings to 23 the total number of bus routes operated by New York City Omnibus.
