Arborway has had Cabot NABI's there ever since the rehab program started. According to Jonathan Belcher's Jan. 20th inventory (http://mysite.verizon.net/rtspcc/MBTAroster.html), these borrowed buses currently include 2119 to 2124, 2126, 2128, 2161, 2165, 2166, 2168, 2208, 2222, 2225, 2262, 2264, 2265, 2268, 2269 and 2279.

Well, that link is now locked as you can't see his roster anymore. Is there a different link or you need special permission to view his site?

I heard there was an explosion just prior to the fire starting, so maybe a tire blew?

Does anyone know what is happening to the C40LFs? It looks like once they're finished at Everett, they move to Cabot. Are they being overhauled?

I'd like to know if MBTA has received any new buses or if they are planning on getting new ones in the near future. I'm thinking of taking a trip down to Boston with my wife and two girls in August and I plan on documenting the trip through the lens of my camera and that includes transit photos. Wink

Still no new buses. The last ones the MBTA purchased were the 1200-series DE60LFR's in 2010. They supposedly will be ordering new buses soon to begin retiring the last of the RTS's, but no order has been placed yet.

This appeared on NETransit yesterday:

MBTA is considering ordering 40 New Flyer 40-foot hybrid XDE40 Xcelsior buses, which would be exercised from a Connecticut DOT purchase option.

Does anyone have any more details?

It's been rumored for a while. Supposedly the MBTA is also considering buying new CNG articulated buses to replace the 1000-series Neoplan buses.

The MBTA is supposed to be testing an Eldorado Axess fuel cell bus later this year. There are a few pictures of it here.

From the NETransit group, Billy Leazer spotted 1406 fueling up in Shrewsbury yesterday and was told that was the third bus of the day.
