Q65A:

My pleasure......anytime!

Besides the buses themselves, there are so many strong (and subtle!) nostalgic elements in those vintage photos.....classic autos, vintage streetlights, advertisements hawking long-outdated products, once-commonplace retail chains.......man, where have all the years gotten to so quickly?? Rolling Eyes

Well....AT LEAST I can say I remember those classic buses!! Wink

I presume that side sign was printed by Transign circa 1967, as there is no reference to 101A (a little slab of '101 3RD-LEX-AMST AVES' is seen above '103 59 STREET CROSSTOWN').

P.S. - R.I.P. Ringling Bros. / Barnum & Bailey Circus.

The 1964 and 1966 Flxibles seemed to be the equivalent of an off-off-Broadway road show, given how they hardly penetrated Manhattan, vs. the GM Fishbowls ordered for MaBSTOA in that same time period that screamed "big time."

W.B:

Judging by the many vintage photos I have seen, I would tend to agree with you; GM's seemed to truly dominate the Manhattan routes, whereas the buses you mentioned seemed to be more or less "bit players" in a big Broadway production.......
