I remember that route very well as my mother and I always took it to Rockaway Beach in the summer. It started at 61st / Roosevelt. Went east of Roosevelt to Broadway to Queens Blvd. East on QB to 63rd Drive, south to Woodhaven and then out to the Rockaways. We'd wait until we got a seat (standees were permitted). We always went to the end stop at Beach 116th Street so we'd get a seat on the return trip.

I understand that the bus now turns onto Woodhaven Blvd at Queens Blvd, thereby eliminating the "Alexander's" stop..

Assuming that this was 1958 - one year before the advent of the fishbowl, the fare back then would cost you $4.68 one way and $7.23 round trip today.

It could well have been, because I remember the old-looks with their red roofs waiting to pick up passengers

Not really a part of this thread, here is a view of a White bus, #W1032, brand new, on the Q-39 in Long Island City

Although #812, a GM TDH 5106, signed for the Q-33 it might have operated to the Rockaway Beach area as in the poster above.
