That lonely "Two Lighter" sure looks as though it could use some help at this intersection (172nd St)......

Note the two diminutive signals at 163rd & Westchester; these might have been only for the streetcars.......

In a wonderfully nostalgic view of "Old Brooklyn", we see trolleybus #3045 at the corner of Bergen & Bedford, as it was in 1959.

Look VERY closely on the left; you'll see a "two lighter" mounted to the ornamental lamppost on the corner.

You also know you're getting old when you can remember autos like these......

All,
I may not post often but I do check in everyday and this has been a fun topic to watch. As usual Mr Linsky and NYO are at the top of their game.

John:

Thank you, my friend, for your kind words......always much appreciated!

While it DOES me take many hours of research to find the vintage photos I am looking for in regards to a given topic, it is truly a "labor of love".

The memories of bygone transit vehicles (and the men who operated and maintained them), as well as the urban infrastructure of many decades ago , are far too valuable to be forgotten.

Our good friend Mr. "L", without a doubt, is a most valuable asset to this board; his professionilsm and his vast storehouse of bus knowledge is truly something of such tremendous worth, one cannot put a price tag on it!

Thanks again for the compliments....

"NYO"
