Here we have a 1948 C33 diesel transit, operated by the old CENTRAL AVENUE company in Jersey City. (only 9 diesel powered C33's were built)
This company served Union City (city line) and Jersey City; Mom and I rode the line that terminated at the old CRRNJ ferry terminal many times when I was growing up.
I can remember the company operating larger MACKS as well; AFAIK, they were all gone by the later 60's.

Not just a glorious parade of "Fallen Flags".......just look at the various bygone makes and models represented in this vintage photo!
