Great link, thanks for posting it!
That's the first time I got a look at the detail of a government agency procurement process....very enlightening....
I can see why the bureacracies are so large....what a staff they must need to be able to write documents such as those.
I wonder what they would do if there were no bidders, due to the demands they make?
And I have heard of cases where due to corruption, or other factors, the specifications were written to insure that only a favored supplier would be able to meet the demands.....
One good thing about all of this.....smaller buyers can also benefit by getting equipment that matches these specs, albeit at a probably somewhat higher purchase price..... |

Lately, in addition to Bustalk and TTMG, one of my favorite transit websites is www,mta.info. There are a lot of on-line documents regularly posted there which likely would be interesting to transit fans. |
