What's the point of having the M34 a +SBS + route?

This is a pretty short line, I don't think the MTA should o made it +SBS+. BTW, what's the difference between the M34 and M34A?

The 34A terminates at the PA Bus Terminal. Otherwise the routes are identical. The original plan was much more ambitious but turned down by the residential and business communities.

What was finally implemented makes little sense because only about 2 or 3 minutes are saved. That doesn't count the possibility of missing the bus and waiting 10 minutes more because you can't pay on the bus.
