According to NYCT Fourms, at least one of the pilot buses have arrived. #2491 was said to be in Manhattan yesterday afternoon.

I heard they offered lower than MCI. That's probably why we are getting more X3-45s.

Thought those of us who are unfamiliar with the City's new Provost 3X-45's might like a preview as seen below.

While it's a nice presentable looking model that I am sure will serve New York well, it just doesn't quite have the regal air of MCI's original D4500's.

I'm curious to why it has two sets of fleet numbers. One set (9387) above the windshield and the other (0052) below the right windshield and on the side behind the handicap logo which are the actual positions of the official fleet number.

9387 is Prévost's fleet number and 0052 was MTA's when it demoed the coach.

Does anyone know if these X3-45s are similar to the 2011-2012 units or are they redesigned? The MTA tested a redesigned demo a few months ago.

I know this is not reliable, but according to NYCT wiki, #2492 may also be here too. Be on the lookout.

You think these buses would do good at NJT?
