GM announced the sale, yesterday, of the above unit to private investors for (I think) 5 billion as part of their restructuring. Proceeds are going to shore up GM's Balance Sheet.[/list] |

Interesting; I suppose it is not an unexpected move as part of the "de-industrialization of GM". They got out of trucks, buses, diesel locomotives, diesel engines, and now heavy duty automatic transmissions; they really do want to focus on consumer products (vehicles and financing). |

Not quite!
I fully expect to see the sale of the Cadillac, Buick, Pontiac, Chevolet and Saturn divisions shortly which should just about finish GM off altogether!
And, what's with financing? they sold most of GMAC which was a 'breadwinner' for them.
Forget it!, we're watching an 'empire' fall flat on its face!
