The newest edition of MC Age, dated July-September 2012, has a great article about the history of Jamaica Buses, with much material contributed by Mr. L himself. |

Mr. L: Just a token of appreciation to you and your co-author Mr. Hughes for a great article! Thank you both!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! and I especially want to thank all the little people (only kidding - I was the littlest!).
Highly recommended reading with many many wonderful photos for which there are really many many people to thank.
For those who are not members of the Motor Bus Society, a copy of 'Jamaica Buses' is now up for auction on eBay through '4509bus' as item # 370755462333.
Regards,
Mr. 'L'

Alternatively, non-members may also purchase it through the Motor Bus Society for $8 plus postage - http://www.motorbussociety.org/mca/ - check the Back Issue List. |

X-Astorian,
Sorry about that - you make a much better salesman than I! - I should have thought of the Society, and they would still have loads of extra copies to boot.
As always, thank you for your help.
Many Regards,
Mr. 'L' |

Nothing to be sorry about - eBay is great and may later be the only source once the MBS sells out its stock. |

To X-Aastorian: Thanks for the tip about MBS to get a copy of Mr. L's article.
I've printed out the order form and my check will be at the P.O. tommorow along with other mail.
Before thinkig of MBS, I put up a bid of $25 and was outbid. Don't know how much it will go for but I'll keep the group posted. |

Hart Bus,
Happy to help. I'm sure that you'll like the Jamaica issue no matter how you get it.

Yikes - I've gotten vintage 1970's issues of MCA for less than that.
My copy finally arrived yeasterday. A quick glance through shows that it is up to the Society's normal high standards and is loaded with information and photos - I'm very much looking forward to an enjoyable read over the next few evenings. Well done, Mr. L!

ECA,
I know - I'm getting a percentage on that one! (just kidding).
Thanks for your compliment even though I played only a small role in what was a major undertaking.
Someone commented that it's amazing how much history Jamaica Buses generated through the years considering how small the company was! (and were they right!).
Regards to you and the family and 'Azizen Pesach'.

Thank you so much for your comment; it is so heartening to know that so many of you are enjoying our toils on the Jamaica project which was both interesting and a lot of fun to do.
Regards,
Mr. 'L' |

Mr. L - a question about the turnstile set up for the racetrack buses. Am I correct in assuming this was a portable turnstile and fencing that was put up as needed when the buses were run?
