[NEW YORK OMNIBUS 2629]

Back around 1995, I often rode to Journal Square on my morning commute aboard an ex-DC Flxible New Look.

This route had been, for decades, the old #1 local, operating between Nungessers and Journal Square.

The bus was still in its old paint, but was equipped with an ancient Johnson farebox, obviously inherited from a long-retired Hudson Boulevard coach.

I recall the bus featured very comfortable "bucket"-type seating, which was still in pretty decent shape.

I last remember riding this bus around 1997.

I'm assuming, that, being that this bus was operating in Hudson County (just across from Manhattan) this had been one of the DC buses sent up to NYC in 1981. when the MTA's Grumman fleet was pulled from service.

Does anyone have any info on this bus?

The photo here shows a DC New Look, while still operating in its hometown.

Any info is most appreciated.......
