The following photo could evoke the usual 'bus driving into bar' jokes until you realize how serious this accident could have been.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported when fleet # 151 - a 1954 GM Coach Model TDH 3714 operating for Intertown Suburban Lines Corporation of Detroit plowed into a local gin mill on Michigan Avenue to avoid colliding with another vehicle.
That's a solid brick wall that # 151 knocked down and, by the look of things, wound up supporting the front of the structure - not a bad job for a tough little 3714!
I'm sure that the bus was repaired and I know that the watering hole survives to this day with its new name Jacob's Place.
Photo courtesy of dfwu and is up for bid on eBay as item # 320919719659.
Further information culled from a report in the October 1955 issue of Bus Transportation Magazine.

MR. 'L' -
(SIGH!) In another post here, ref the "Battery Bus" around LAX somewhere, a reference to an old Henny Youngman line.
Perhaps as an Old Coot, I have witnessed endless standup comedy? Anyway, pertinent here (all feel free to complete it!)...
"...so this guy comes into this bar in a City Bus... tells the Bartender..."
