Souhtern Kansas Greyhound was jointly owned by Greyhound and Continental Trailways. Trailways acquired their interest through the purchase of Santa Fe Trail Transportation, one of the founding members of the Trailways association, in the late forties. Santa Fe Trail was a subsidiary of the Santa Fe Railway.
The management of Southern Kansas alternated back and forth between Greyhound and Trailways on an annual basis. Greyhound ran it one year, then Trailways for the next year, and so on. Sounds like a strange set-up but apparently it worked. The equipment roster reflected the joint ownership with Eagles and MCI's making up the fleet.
