Taken in the early sixties at the corner of Camden and Howard Streets in Downtown Baltimore, we see fleet # 1004 - a 1958 GM Parlor Coach Model PD 4104 (serial # 3581) and one of seven like models operating for the Baltimore and Annapolis Railroad Company of Baltimore, Maryland.
It appears as though # 1004 has been in a slight mishap and its driver has yet to figure out what to do about it.
The first words out of the instructor's mouth as we 'newbies' began our classroom theory portion of driver training at Green Line (NY) were, one; "always remember that your front wheels are behind you" and, two; "give corners a wide berth" (that was good advice!).
I guess it was back to the drawing board for that B & A chauffeur!
Originally dubbed 'Highway Travelers' by GM, the streamlined 4104's and their immediate successors the 4106's gained solid reputations among their operators and were known as the fastest things on six wheels!

First thing we were taught when learning to drive a bus was "protect your curb side!" This operator didn't do it and will get a preventable accident for his inattention.
Anyone who has spend 10 minutes behind the wheel of a bus knows that if you give auto drivers room to get between you and the curb, they will.
The driver of the Pontiac is an ass, to be sure, but the driver will be charged with the accident.
