Once in a great while you find a really beautiful photograph with everything perfect (albeit in black and white) and the attachment is one of them!
Pictured brand new and sitting proudly for its family portrait in front of the company facility is fleet number 758 - a 1948 GM Coach Model TDH 4507 and one of fifteen numbered between 751 and 765 operating for the Omaha and Council Bluffs Street Railway (a/k/a O&CB) of Omaha, Nebraska.
These GM's were among the first for O&CB and a departure from their devotion to Twin Coach equipment that had served them since the inception of their bus operations in 1936.
O&CB's operation was rare in that it served as transit for both Omaha in Nebraska and Council Bluffs just across the Missouri River in Iowa (note license plates for both states at the front bumper).
Upon receipt of eighteen 1955 TDH 4512's, # 758 and its siblings were sold off to the Key System of Oakland, California.
A brief history of O&CB;
The Omaha and Council Bluffs Street Railway and Bridge Company, known as O&CB, was incorporated in 1886 to connect Omaha, Nebraska with Council Bluffs, Iowa over the Missouri River.
With a sanctioned monopoly in streetcar service in both cities, the O&CB was among the earliest major electric street railway systems in the country, and was one of the last making its final runs in 1955.

Great find, Mr. Linsky. We had a bunch of 1948 4507's here in Louisville, and the last 25 ran until the first Transit Authority purchase (AM-Generals) arrived in 1975. I drove them on just about every route we operated back then, but they were mostly used on secondary routes and school trippers.
