Thank You. I remember seeing a newspaper article about the service, so I tried it. There were the 4 R/T's AM and PM. The logic was that the first bus would get back to be the third bus and the second bus become the 4th.
Later the route was extended east to start/end at IIRC Exit 68.
There were few riders and then van service was substituted before closing it down completely. I always thought that if successful Bauman would push to bring it into NYC, if the LIRR didn't balk.
