Here's an interesting article that appeared in the April 2nd. 1935 edition of The New York Times in which the City of New York loses its court battle to substitute Green Bus Lines (NY) for the faulty Bee Line (L.I.) Jamaica hub operations.
This was only the opening salvo in Green's attempt to secure Bee Line's routes with one negotiation after the next over the following years and all of which resulting in failure due to obstinacy on the part of Bee Line's owners.
The city did eventually win in a subsequent trial and Bee Line's Jamaica operations were granted to North Shore Bus Company.
Enjoy.
