Since the old board made a sudden exit, some more developments:
4001-4003 entered service a little under 2 weeks ago
4004 entered service last Wednesday.
4005 was in transit two weeks ago and is being prepared for service soon if it isn't in service already.
4006-4007, the last parts of this year's diesel order, are either in transit or will soon be.
After the diesels, the 6 hybrids will be in by June and the 8 30' buses for Saratoga service will be in around the same time and will enter service in July. Plans for what will be ordered in next year's order (which will replace the [s]colanders on wheels[/s] 1996 Orion VI's) will become public knowledge later this month after the CDTA board meeting. |

Well, 4006 and 4007 made it and entered service last Friday or so. Now it's onto the hybrids and the 8 Saratoga buses (one of which may have been seen testing in the Hayward area, heading out here early for testing/PR purposes a la 4000).
Now, to kick back and hear more people raving about the buses. I know people who would never dare set foot in a bus consider changing their tune given how nice they look and all the time I hear people raving about them. Is this normal for new buses or since these are such a departure from the status quo is that why they're such a big deal? |
