Thank you for thinking of me. I didn't think of HART since that is a Huntington Town operation and not under any financial agreement with Suffolk County.

To help fill in the list and give a piece of history here is some background. When the town fathers decided to start a bus service a private contracted was installed.

The service started with three GM Fishbowls "inherited" I think from the Northport Bus Company who went out of business. I think that they had one route that started in Northport, came down to Larkfield and Pulaski Roads. Then went west to Broadway/Greenlawn Rd, north to LIRR station. South to Pulaski (similar to the H-4) then west on Pulaski. (not sure if it did a loop around the LIRR Huntington Station, but the route continued west on Pulaski and terminated at the Cold Spring Harbor Station.

Those 3 Fishbowls were 101,102,103.

When they wore out, Orion I's # 301,302 and 303 were the replacements.

Then some Glligs numbered 4xx were gotten to replace some of the 200 series Flx's.

I think to complete the replacement of the flx's Gilligs 501-505 were obtained.

Subsequently some Gilligs 6xx were purchased to replace the Orion I's and the aging 4xx. I have seen 601 and 602 in fill in service, so they're still around

7xx were assigned to the senior service and are Amtrans (?).

801 - 808 are Orions. Some have a partial wrap honoring our service men.

I have seen some cut-away vans using the 1xx series of numbers.

I thought HART's 800's were Gilligs not Orions.

I stumbled upon HART's order by accident, their order was right before the order for the City of Long Beach

Also on an unrelated note, i've having trouble with the letter h on the keyboard, so if i leave tat letter out in some words please for give me.

Another mystery to the pile While looking up the TDH 45xx fishbowls, I came across these oddities.

1 - S60 is correct that the production records at the OMOT do not show a fleet # for TDH 4519 #1138 delivered to Louis A. Fuoco Bus Co, of Patchogue, New York in December of 1966.

2. - Utility Lines (a Nassau County Operator) is shown as being in Patchouge for its deliveries.

3 - The best for last. No mention og Bomscheuer Bus Company of Copiague NY who purchased TDH4519 #0409 and gave it fleet # 146 upon delivery in August of 1964. Where were their routes. All I know is that they purchased 3 Yellow Coach 720's from FACC in the early 1960's from a document posted on this board by Mr. Linsky.

I know that there were tw buses purchased in the name of the father and son (i believe), not the company name. Though i don't recall what type they were. I believe tey ran what is now the 1A,B, S31 and probaly some routes that don't exist any more as te 1952 "Mass Transportation's Directory" says that the company served Amityville, Copiague, Lindenhurst, West Babylon, Babylon.

Also The Listed CEO of Bornscheuer is the same listed for EDUCATIONAL BUS TRANSPORTATION, INC.

I also found it werid that Utility Lines had buses being delivered t Patchouge. Could they have owned a property to hold buses for runs that orignanated and ended in Patchouge, since their route was very long, going from Patchouge to Freeport was it?

Could that bus that is not recorded as being delivered to Louis A. Fuoco Co, have been brought second hand?

I showed my mother the picture of Coram Line Service #924, she said that the photo was taken at Coram Plaza.

Since my wife and I have purchased new carpeting for my office and the rest of the basement, we have to get everything ready for the installers. They will move furniture, providing its not too heavy. That means taking out drawers and putting them in another part of the house.

As part of this mission, we are cleaning out a whole lot of old stuff. To bring a smile to Mr. Linsky's face, I found a receipt from E.J. Korvette's for some work my wife had done on her car before we were married in 1973.

I found an e-mail that I had sent to Dave Wallace. He had lived in Huntington at one time and remembered riding on Huntington Coach and eating at Conte's Burger Haven. According to his list and my reply, here is a more definitive list than S-60 has. He is more than welcome to use this information to update his roster.

A friend told me a while ago that there was an old New Flyer from Suffolk, sitting in some lot on Suffolk Ave in Brentwood. He claims that after it was used by Suffolk, it was brought and used by Huntington Area Rapid Transit. Anyone know if what he says is true, did Huntington Area Rapid Transit have an Ex Suffolk Transit New Flyer at some point?

I think your friend is mistaken about where the bus went. I have never seen a New Flyer operating for HART.

Other than the three "inherited" Fishbowls (101,102 and 103), all of HART's equipment was purchased new from manufacturers, with no used equipment purchased.

I though there was something fishy with it.

Looking at the photo of Coram 924, I believe that might be an ex-Chattanooga T6H4523A. The paint scheme looks just like the as-delivered scheme for Chattanooga's T6H4523A's.

According to the OMOT lists, Chattanooga Area Regional Transit Authority got 45 T6H4523A's, numbered 901-945, in June, 1973. So they would have had a 924. That number looks like the same style Chattanooga used also.

We'd have to know the serial number to be certain, though.

This post is a little bit off.......The lot your friend is referring to is on the south
side of Suffolk Avenue about 200 feet west of Rte 111. I passed there afound HART # 701 there. It was not a Flyer, but a small bus used in handicapped service and possibly, on an emergency basis, on HART"S commuter routes.

After Tax season is over, I will ask how to post pictures in these posts and will put up what I shot.
