To top off my day of photo opts in Queens, I stood pretty much in the same spot that I used to stand 49 years ago to stretch my legs during short layovers at Queens Boulevard and 80th. Road in Kew Gardens on the Q10 line.

The only real difference being that our faithful GM Old Looks have turned into the most modern 'Clean Air Hybrid Electrics' as can be seen as fleet number 4154 awaits its turn - a very late model Orion VII - and a really beautiful piece of equipment out of JFK Depot.

In a real nostalgic moment, I followed the same route that I worked a half century ago down Lefferts Boulevard to 'Old South Road' at the Belt Parkway and very little has changed over those many years.

All and all, my sojourn back through the pages of history was very memorable and enjoyable!

I didn't even have to worry this time around if I were running 'hot' passed "Father John's house at Sutter and Lefferts where he used to sit out on his front porch on his day off and give us dirty looks as we sailed by - Father John (Devlin) was chief 'Gold Badge' Inspector and when he'd catch you pushing the envelope he used to stop you, look at his shiny gold pocket watch, and say "you'd rob the poor box out of the church if you could" and we'd laugh at that because he was really a very good guy!

BTW; if you look closely at the first image below, you'll see this writer's reflection in the window of the bus as I took the photo (left center).

Next stop; 'mayhem at the Lincoln Tunnel' - stay tuned.

Regards,

Mr. 'L'
