Sitting in the South West corner, right where the Gillig HEV's were parked, are 6 Orion VII's. I caught the numbers 1003-1007. Hard to read at 65mph, so I know I missed some numbers. Knowing 1007 was there, I am guessing at least 7 are at EBT. We shall see---

I believe those buses, if the numbers are and if i'm correct are 40 footers which will probably be used on the S1.

Are these supplementing the 8000's or will some of the 8's be reassigned?

I would assume supplementing since the 80xx's are 40 ft as well. they would still have the 50xx's to run on the other routes once the 96xx's are retired.

Though that's based on EBT not getting enough 40 ft Orion VII's, (i believe the numbering for 40 fters goes up to 1015 and since Inter County already has 1001 and EBT now has at least 1003-1007 that leaves 9 unaccounted for, assuming EBT doesn't have anymore) to handle S1 service, at which the 80xx's may be used on other routes. And maybe some of the 50xx's transferred to Sunrise will be my guess.

I don't know the exact number of buses needed to run the S1, but i believe its around ten. If i'm wrong please correct me.

So this makes Four companies seven to have at least gotten one Orion VII's so far. HJ and CBS Lines are the only two that haven't been seen with any, one though has their yard in the woods in a residential area, and can be seen from the road, or so i've been told.

Two Orion VII's were seen by someone on Subchat in Service on the S1, they were numbered 1004 and 1006.

Saturday, October 9, 2010, about 9 a.m., I found 1001 at Sunrise Mall about to leave on Route 33, Intercounty to Lindenhurst, Wyandanch, Deer Park, Brentwood, and Hauppauge (55 minutes).

So Inter County is running 1001 on the S33, i thought that it would have been used on the S54. I heard that there is a second 10xx at Inter County, though i don't know the number or if it is also 40ft or not.

So if EBT and Inter County are using their 10xx buses, then maybe Sunrise is using theirs to. I wonder what 96xx gave up it's Fare Box, since when i first saw pic's of 1001 it had none. Unless they got a brand new fare box for the bus.

Any sign that 1010 and 1011 have been put into service yet like some of their sisters?

Either 1012 and 1013 haven't arrived or maybe they will be at HJ?

Now i'm sure that is the second to last 40ft as how much proof do we need to show that the 40ft buses are numbered 1001-1015?

Anyway 1002 hasn't been heard from, and 1008 and 1009 could be at EBT, we haven't heard any more about the exact numbing of their buses yet.

I thought Sunrise and HJ was the same place on County Road 39 in Southampton. Correct me if I am wrong please. While passing Hampton Jitney I did not see any Orion VII this weekend. I sat in enough traffic to get a good look!!

Hampton Jitney has their depot in Southampton, Sunrise has a small depot in Greenport.

Hampton Jitney holds a few buses at their depot that are actually operated by Sunrise for early morning service on the S92, thats why i thought some Orion VII's may have been there.

All the 40ft buses should have arrived by now as i heard that delivery of them started in July, and that delivery is suppose to be starting on the 35ft buses.

So far it goes like this 40ft buses are # 1001-1015, 35ft buses # 1016-1065. I have no idea about the 30ft buses. The Orion VII's will have Cummins ISL engines. Have no idea about the Transmission.
