Back in the days when buses were almost as big as airplanes, we see fleet number 3235 at Lambert Field in St. Louis sometime in 1957 awaiting passengers disembarking from an Ozark Airlines DC3.
#3235 is a 1947 GM Coach Model TDH 4507 and one of 300 purchased by St. Louis Public Service in 1947 and 1948.
What makes #3235 and many of its siblings so special is the fact that, between 1956 and 1957, the company Air Conditioned nearly 250 of them in their own shops utilizing custom designed after market Thermo King equipment.
There's something to be said about the quality of the 4507's when, after almost ten years of service, the company felt confident enough to invest heavily in upgrading them.
