I found some articles through NYS Historic Newspaper that said that in 1978 SeaShore Transit, Inc (Owned by John Mench who also owned Montauk Bus Company/Montauk Bus Service) ran the S61 which at the time went from Patchouge to Coram

Also at the same time Alert Coach Lines ran the S63.

I had also found something interesting and confusing, while everyone said that Alert Coach Lines ran the Babylon to Patchouge route (The S40) between the years that Suffolk contracted with MSBA, I had found an article that said that Four Season Bus Company's parent company Holbrook Transportation
Corp., ran the route before losing it, because 'after complaints that
service had become almost nonexistent.', to MSBA.

Also it seems that Four Seasons ran the Patchouge-Smith Haven Mall and to Sayville route but lost it in 1977 after complaints. It seems that MSBA was one of those that were interested in operating the route, along with Alert Coach Lines, Suffolk Coach, and SeaShore Transit, Inc

I found for sale on EBay two sets of SCT transfers from February 1987. One set is the S45 and 6A and the other is the 3A and 3D.

(3A and 3D)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/K2979-USA-Suffolk-County-Transit-2-Trolley-Bus-Ticket-s-1987-Long-Island-NY-/311614233873?hash=item488da7dd11:g:IZoAAOSwXSJXOvV8

(6A and S45)

Interestingly if you look at the bottom of the 3D and 6A you will notice that transfer with the S64. So the S64 was running until at least then.

Just looked at the 3D transfer again and the S60 is listed on that as well as the S64.

So my guess is that at that time the S60 didn't extend to the Coram at that time.

Yesterday I passed by the Hampton Jitney Garage...in Calverton and I saw a couple of Gilligs there. I ciouldn't get the numbers BUT you might have to update your roster IF that bus is permanently there.

That's interesting.

Since the Calverton depot or terminal is near the end of the 8A, I wonder if an agreement was made with Sunrise where Sunrise could keep a bus for the 8A there.

That would be intresting, though that would be awful generous of Hampton Jitney since those routes are run by SBC.

8A makes more sence being that that route is assigned to Twin Forks Transit and they already have the deal to layover a few buses for the S92.

I believe it's an S92 that sits at Calverton because every time I pass by Hampton Jitney at night, usually their are TWO buses up against "the wall" but now there's only one. I guess the bus at Calverton starts in Riverhead and heads towards East Hampton. Just guessing here.

Speaking of Twin Forks Transit, it's been 5 years! Happy Anniversary! They should just start it own system I think.

From what I can tell from the S92 there is now only one bus that leaves East Hampton in the morning that doesn't have a run coming in before it. The 7:35 run from East Hampton. That could account for why there is only the one bus now laying over at the HJ Southampton Depot.

The First bus out of Greenport at 5:15 only goes as far as Bridghampton and then turns around and does a run from there to Orient Point Ferry,

Oddly though there are three buses that arrive in East Hampton after the last S92 from East Hampton. Maybe one of them is the one that is laid up at the Calverton Deopt so the driver doesn't have to make the long deadhead back to Greenport that late. Assuming it's a S92 bus.

No change with the S92 overnight stay at Hampton Jitney. Two buses (from Sunrise) are still utilizing the Southampton yard. As for seeing SCT buses at Calverton, might be the S90 and buses being serviced (most if not all Hampton Jitney bus maintenance undertaken at Calverton).

Thanks Jimbo for the heads up!

Oh and #1065 is back in service. I saw it on the S92 leaving Riverhead LIRR Station and heading towards Orient Point.
