Here are photos taken from my day in Philadelphia including visiting the 2010 SEPTA Bus Roadeo:

5355, a 1996 Ikarus in perhaps its last year of service:

New Flyer E40LF #831:

1999 Neoplan AN460 #7132:

2005 New Flyer D40LF #8099

2009 New Flyer DE41LF #8235:

1980 GMC RTS 35 footer #4462:

1974 Flxible New Look #6569:

1970 GMC TDH-5304 #4300

Brand new New Flyer DE40LFR #8424 being used in the competition:

SEPTA has the distinction of having had the 1000th New Flyer & New Flyer 30,000th bus delivered in 8411 & 8450 which I believed arrived ahead for the event:

Others:
New Flyer D40LF #5691 in Center City on layover before a run on the 47M:

8013 seen in South Philadelphia heading to the Navy Yard, a weekend only service:

8006 with several of Philadelphia's tallest buildings in the background:

The NABIs still make it out on weekends as evidenced of 5395 working the haulin' Route 64:

8249 is seen near the end of Route 32 which terminates a block past this photo:

8259, with a dead sign displays a paper sign showing its terminus:

New Flyer Trackless Trolley #829 seen at Bells Corner Loop, the end of Route 59:

Neoplan 7101, the first and only artic with an Orange sign is seen at Frankford Terminal before departing on Route 14:

Here is a comparison photo between the last two hybrid series ordered:

Nice to see SEPTA has a historic fleet. What -- No Marmon-Herrington?

My my the new look Flx and GM look fine. They only looked that good the day they were delivered, but not bad at all!

Glad to see that the RTS-03 Slopeback was preserved. One of my favorite bus shapes of all time.

This board is about differences of opinion so that we can speak openly about our hobby. I have loved the GMC Fishbowl better than the Flx. I don't particularly care for the SEPTA colors and metal fluting. Takes away from the flow of the colors. Also having a colored body as opposed to a white one, makes the bus look smaller and not as majestic.

Indeed, the RTS looked good, and installing rooftop a/c was preferable to putting the aftermarket kit on the rear as many properties did.

The RTS was a sleek design from the git-go. Too bad it was so overbuilt and under-designed. They were a maintenance headache but looked so nice coming down the road!
