According to today's Newsday, a driver working for Sunrise Coach, subsidiary of Hampton Jitney, pulled his bus over on County Road 51 near Riverhead and after talking to her, attempted to rape her. She resisted and he calmly went back to operating the bus.

She exited the bus and contacted the NYS Police (who have jurisdiction in that area) and filed a complaint. The driver was pulled over later on Route 24.

The article didn't say the route or bus #, but those of you who know the area can fill in the missing details.

For the record, Sunrise Coach Lines, Inc. is not, and never was, a subsidiary of Hampton Jitney. Can't believe everything you read (especially in Newsday).
