I was going to post a topic for this but I see you already have so here goes, some pictures of Daimler EPA10 Orion VII demonstrator PT4:

Along with these improvements to the Orion VII design mentioned in the magazine article comes a totally revamped quality control system to ensure the highest quality buses yet to roll off the line, a better suspension system, standard LED Interior lighting, and many new options that extend past just BRT styling and floor hatches. The first customer delivery of the new EPA10 model is for Mississauga Transit in August, 2010

Is Orion doing away with the traditional handle to control the doors? I don't see one in the photo of the driver's compartment.

Orion VIIs now have door buttons as standard. Door handles are an option.

Late Reply I know, but to answer the question all of Orion's diesel EPA2010 demonstrators (PT3, PT4, Sales 2) use the ZF Ecolife 6 speed transmission.

Drove past the Orion plant in Oriskany on Saturday 8/7 and saw the following VII NG buses in the lot (all 40-footers):

- Suffolk Transit 1002, 1003 and 1005, plus several others too far in to see the numbers

- Houston Metro buses including 4634 through 4637

- Mississauga Transit buses in both of the new 'miWay' schemes (orange for local, blue BRT-styled buses for BRT)

- Approximately 25 new diesels for Veolia/New Orleans RTA, numbered from 240 up into the 260's. These buses had fleet numbers only and no paint scheme or RTA markings.

Several demo buses were also in the lot.

The yellow grab rails (both horizontal and vertical) makes the interior very claustrophobic. Either they have to go or be redesigned!
