To help coordinate schedules on the B44 and B35, new quarters have been supplied for dispatchers.

and

This was inspired by the traffic towers placed in the center of Fifth Avenue, Manhattan, in the 1920's.

I don't believe what I'm seeing! - A Kim's Nails on Nostrand? only kidding!

Shades of a concentration camp!

How many of these towers are on order - I can just picture them on every street in the city.

When does the barbed wire get installed?

Wow!, I'm glad I don't live there any more! (unless these two pictures are really superimposed jokes!).

Regards.

These are actual portable towers that raise up to watch over a large area. Can also record events taking place in the area.

GBL,

I'll say they can record! Do you see what's on the roof?

I would think that they would use these towers as observatories in crowd situations such as a Jazz concert in Central Park and the like.

They just look so imposing and even frightening in the middle of a neighborhood street!

It's a sad commentary!

Many regards,

Mr. 'L'

This portable tower has been on display at the last few DOB Roadeos (usually adjacent to the Mack MC emergency response unit operated by the NYPD Transit Unit).
