Here, we see another slice of the 'Fabulous Fifties' in New York City with the appearance on Central; Park South (59th. Street) of fleet number 1628 - a 1948 Mack Model C-45-DT and one of 185 (1600 to 1784) delivered to Surface Transportation System of New York in June of that year.
While the bus is the focus of the frame, we can't help noticing the elegant horse drawn carriages that are almost a trademark feature of Central Park and have been posted at the Plaza Hotel Square at 59th. and Fifth since 1909.
