Posted on behalf of Mr. John Braniff, President of the North American Bus Association.
Hello all,
After months of negotiations with the Greater Dayton RTA we have come to an agreement to have an ex-Edmonton Transit System Electric Trolleybus (ETB) known to Dayton as "#110" used for a weekend charter. During the Saturday participants will be treated to a tour of the trolley bus network aboard the BBC Trolley as well as the facilities used by the transit authority (Garage, terminals, offices etc) and on the Sunday NABA is considering/trying to arrange a trip to Covington Kentucky to view the TANK Historical Fleet (however the Sunday portion could change at this time) We will not be suggesting a host Hotel yet however the Greater Dayton RTA has agreed to have a pick up at an agreed hotel to transport the participants to the garage for the trolley tour. The bus used for the "Hotel Shuttle" will be a brand new Hybrid bus. Details are yet to be finalized but they will be posted on our new website www.nababus.org as soon as they become available.
Due to the nature of this convention, All participants are required to register via the online registration on the website. When we receive your registration you will be notified and sent a Waiver/Terms and Conditions of Participation and the address to which the required amount of $25USD/CDN can be sent to. Our agreement with the Dayton RTA is that everyone spend at least two nights in Dayton (Small local economy booster) and we must prove to them that people are committed to coming. Your waiver/payment must be sent in the mail to the address specified in your Confirmation e-mail.
If for any reason your cannot attend the event, you must notify the association 48hrs prior to the event starting date in order to receive a full refund. The most up to date details will be on our website and eventually posted here. We also have a "Discussion Forum" on our new website which is being run on a trial for event discussion/NABA related topics only,
Looking forward to seeing everyone in May 2010!

If you do come down to see the TANK historic fleet, you should contact the CTHA (Cincinnati Transit Historical Assn) and see if they can get some of their fleet out of storage for the event.
The timecruncher may have to visit TANK to help with moving of buses...

Hopefully both of you and others on here can make it out to the event, and I'm sure your help, timecruncher, would be appreciated.
A reminder: registration for the event is due February 1, 2010.
An update from Mr. Braniff:
CTHA will allow the group to see their fleet.
TANK is still in talks with the North American Bus Association. |

Do you have approximate start and end times for each day? I would be looking at a 9-hour ride back home once Sunday's festivities are complete. |

Events will take place from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This is subject to change, however, with ongoing negotiations. |
