Quite a surprise greeted me when I opened the Book Review section of the New York Times for 11.29.2009. On page 7, there is a review of a novel, "The Art Student's War," set in Detroit. To illustrate the review, the Times chose a photo of Mack 5455 signed Conant - Jefferson, with a window placard that seems to read "Northland Mall."

If memory is correct, many buses carried the Pepsi bottle-top ad.
Any comments?
Thanks. Joe |

Joe -
Ah, PEPSI flooded the country with those signs! Fairly commonplace, oh, late 1950s into early 1960s, at least...
Had the NYT editor and layout guy not gone for easy and convenient, a photo of a Detroit PCC Car isn't all that hard to find...

This one's for the record;
Great find.
Pepsi certainly had the bus fronts tied up!
