D.L.,

At this point, Los Angeles has just about finished with them but both New York City and Golden Gate Bridge Transit Authority (Ca.) have a few later issues still running.

I'm sure that there are many other operators around the country that still run RTS's but I'm not familiar with them.

Actually, there was a great shot on this board only a couple of weeks ago of a New Jersey Transit still going strong and looking pretty good too.

Pictured below is a photo that I took of one of the last RTS's to operate on the #2 Sunset Boulevard route in Los Angeles.

Enjoy.

Thanks. I knew some of HART's retired RTS buses are now operating in New Britain and I wasn't sure if any were left on the roster.

I'm not quite sure why, but New Britain is no longer running any of the ex-HART RTS buses. The last time that I was there they were stored out of service.

A week ago, I was on a westbound J train above Williamsburg Bridge Plaza. Every bus in sight below me was an RTS, number painted on the roof. I have seen newer equipment on some of the six routes that originate there, but many RTS's can be seen and ridden.

I'm pretty sure Lextran in Lexington, KY still has a few in service. They had some 35 and 40-foot units with DD50 engines still running a few years ago, along with some ex-TARC RTS06 units and some bizarre 30-foot RTS cut-downs from 40-foot buses.

I doubt if the ex-TARC units are still running, but the stuff they got new is certainly still in the fleet. I'll have to go over there some Saturday and check it out...

Tuscon's Sun Tran is absolutely running their NOVA RTS coaches as of April 2009 when I visited last. This one is shown arriving at the Tohono Transit Center on the north side of town.
