Just because New Flyer wins huge orders doesn't make them the best but then again they won't be anymore because they have issues, they make cutbacks so they won't be #1. I hope NOVABus or Orion gets to be number 1 only in the future.

It's too early to determine if New Flyer's recent cutbacks are a temporary issue or if their run of large orders has slowed down. They could still bounce back quickly.

MADE IN USA is completely illegal under NAFTA.
Now...before everybody screams about how NAFTA is "sucking" jobs, wait for a few minutes.
All or most of the sub-assemblies that go into actually making the bus are sourced from the USA.
Having a strong manufacturing sector in Canada means you don't have a second or third world nation abutting your northern frontier.
And, no, the terrorists 8 years ago did not enter the USA via Canada.

I wonder how having the pilot buses built in Quebec satisfies the 'Made in USA' funding requirements? Shocked

I think you are confusing matters here – it has nothing to do with NAFTA. Any operator can buy Nova LFS buses if they want, but they have to abide by the Federal Transit Administration’s ‘Buy America’ rules if they are using federal capital assistance to help fund the purchase. It also goes both ways – for over 30 years, the Province of Quebec has effectively shut out any competitors to GMDD/MCI/Nova because they were unwilling to assemble their products in the province.

we will have to see.

Hopefully NOVABus becomes Number 1 and gets more buyers then any other bus builders.
