Dear BusTalk,
God bless you all!!! It's been a while since I last posted here, but I was curious: Is there any place on the web that has the old Green Bus Lines and/or Jamaica Bus route and destination signs of the 60's? I thought I saw some on the Web a while back, but that was when I first started on the Internet and forgot where they were. I hope GBL super-historian Mr. Linsky has some stashed away someplace!!! Thank you for your time. |

Henry,
I believe I did a piece on Green Line's destination signs somewhere on this site albeit from the thirties but they didn't change that much into the sixties.
It was either the late sixties or early seventies that they began adding routes including special expresses to both Manhattan and JFK if my memory serves me.
I'll try to find and reprise the article which deals with the curtains that came with the Mack Model CM's in 1939 and 1940 and, of course, featuring 'World's Fair' as a special destination.
In the meantime, enjoy the image below of a Green Line GM Old Look side roller showing 'Cornell Park' on the Q41.
