Thanks for posting, again. I see Gillig has invaded southern Maryland (but not MTA in Baltimore - yet).

Ride-On's new scheme isn't bad-looking, but I have to wonder why transit authorities are forever changing their color schemes every time they get a new bus delivered? I can see altering an existing color scheme slightly for hybrid coaches, but some places just go nuts when getting new bus deliveries and re-invent themselves for some reason or another.

All it does is add cost -- public schedules, bus stops, printed matter, eventually everything is re-done to reflect the "NEW AND IMPROVED" image. Its the same old bus service, just with different colors.

Thank heavens, the fall pick is over and ready to be unleashed on a wary public...

My understanding is that at least one factor in Ride On getting the new paint scheme is their buses now having external advertisements. When they started using the ads, they had to apply the "Ride On" name elsewhere on the buses. I'm guessing that another factor may have been that they've used the out-going scheme since 1989.
