According to today's (7/6/09) Newsday a charter bus transporting families to visit their loved ones incarcerated in Ray Brook and Malone prisons. The bus rolled over on the Adoranck Northway about 1/4 mile south of Exit 21.

The bus was operated by Angelic Tours and Shuttles, Inc. of Fayetteville. NC

Calls by a reporter to the Fayetville and NYC offices were not returned.

No info on the type of bus. Sadly a Ms. Currice Gravitt. 33 y/o, of NYC died in the accident.

May she rest in peace

Update

Bus Company Owner Behind Wheel in Deadly Crash

By Robert Gavin, Timesunion.com 7/8/09

The man behind the wheel of a deadly bus crash in Lake George last Sunday also owns the company.

Todd Womack, 45, who heads the Fayetteville, N.C.-based Angelic Tours and Shuttles, was driving the bus that crashed south of Exit 21 on the Northway in Warrensburg about 3:15 a.m., State Police said.

When reached Monday, before he was identified as the driver, Womack told the Times Union, “I’m devastated myself because of the loss.”

Womack declined to comment when reached Tuesday night after State Police identified him as the motorist. Police also released the names of the injured passengers, three of whom remain hospitalized.

Investigators are reportedly probing whether Womack fell asleep at the wheel. As it turns out, the driver’s work load did come up in a profile by the Fayetteville Observer in January 2006.

At the time, Womack was asked about his hours. He replied, “You don’t want to know. Personally, I put in maybe 20 hours a day. I take business calls around the clock.”
