I got word that some of Greyhound's new Prevost coaches have begun showing up on the New York-Buffalo-Toronto run.So, it seems to me that some of these new buses are finding their way into the New York-Toronto pool with New York Trailways as partner on the pool. NYT has their own Prevosts, both H3-45 and LeMirage models. Perhaps my chance to ride one will soon be at hand.

I saw two of them in Syracuse on Monday - I'll post a few pics later on.

Diesljim -

In the long view, whatever happened to direct Greyhound authority, between New York and Buffalo? That is, why is a Trailways pool routing
needed on this run?

There were two distinct Greyhound routings operated: 1) Central GL, NYC - Albany - BUF, and 2) Penna GL - Central GL, joint route via Elmira.

From another source, learned Megabus runs same city pair via Scranton and Binghamton. Not clear if its runs BNG - NYS-17 - Elmira -
IH390 - as part of its operations. That suggests other questions, whether they may also use NYS-63 in part...

This was probably a result of the relentless cost cutting done by Greyhound Lines, particularly during the Fred Currey years. It was also a product of the creation of the Great Lakes Route between Boston and Clevleand that once involved buses running through from Boston or Cleveland to destination.
