I'm NE2, and I've been writing about the history of surface transportation, mainly in New York City, on Wikipedia for several months. At this moment, I'm working on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Railways . I wasn't able to sign up for the old bustalk because I use Gmail. I hope I can help answer questions about the early history of routes, and possibly get some information.
